Ballantyne Country Club
Established in 1996, Ballantyne Country Club is one of the finest private golf clubs in the Charlotte area. In addition to the Rees Jones designed par 72 Championship golf course, Ballantyne Country Club also offers magnificent practice facilities that are ranked in the top 50 nationally. A large range with separate teaching tee is located next to a expansive putting green and elaborate short game area that offers a wide array of different shot options. The stately clubhouse is furnished with luxurious locker rooms along with a recently renovated restaurant, bar and patio area - the perfect locale for hosting Tour Mind Factor's Presidents Cup event.
Quail Hollow Club
Quail Hollow Club has what is considered by many to be one of the finest courses in the United States.
The course was originally designed by famed golf course architect George Cobb in 1961 to capture the beauty as well as challenging terrain of the Piedmont region. In the intervening years, the course has undergone a series of improvements, including modifications to several holes by Arnold Palmer in 1986, a redesign by Tom Fazio in 1997 and modifications by Tom Fazio to several holes in the summer of 2016. Quail Hollow Club has been host to many prestigious events over the years including the Kemper Open ( 1969 - 1979), the World Seniors Invitational (1980 - 1989), the Wells Fargo Championship (2003 - present) and the PGA Championship (2017).
Quail Hollow Club boasts one of the hardest finishing 3-hole stretches in golf - known as the Green Mile. Aptly named due to the severity of the holes, the Green Mile is a prison term for the final walk of a death row inmate to the execution chamber.
